In today’s business environment, fraud is no longer a distant risk or a topic reserved only for investigators and auditors. It is a real and growing concern that can affect organisations of every size, across every sector. That is why continuous learning matters.
At Moore TT, we place strong value on the upskilling of our team because staying effective in a changing business landscape requires more than technical knowledge alone. It requires awareness, professional curiosity and a deeper understanding of the risks that can threaten businesses from within.
Our recent internal training session, “Introduction to Occupational Fraud and Fraud Concepts,” brought together team members from our Assurance and Advisory departments for a focused discussion on one of the most important issues facing organisations today.
The session explored:
- occupational fraud and how it occurs
- the main types of fraud
- the role of internal controls
- relevant International Standards on Auditing (ISA)
- red flags that may point to fraudulent activity
Two case studies were also used to bring the discussion to life, helping team members think more practically about fraud-related risks, exposures and mitigation.
The session was facilitated by Moore TT’s very own Anthony Pierre, Managing Director & Certified Risk Management Consultant and Forensic Audit Specialist, Melissa Butts, Cyber Security and Risk Management Specialist, and Damarli Samai, Forensic Accounting Specialist.
For us, this kind of training is about more than knowledge-sharing. It reflects Moore TT’s commitment to building a team that is informed, agile and equipped to support clients with sound insight in a complex and evolving environment.
At Moore TT, we believe investing in our people helps us better protect and support the businesses we serve.
