With the year quickly winding down, many SMEs across Trinidad & Tobago are considering their next move to secure funding, boost capacity, and strengthen their operations for 2026. The good news? There are several SME grants and government incentives available, and now is the perfect time to consider them.

If you or an SME you know is in the market for additional funding, here are the most practical, easy-to-access options available:

1. NEDCO Grants & Business Support

NEDCO offers grants of up to TT$20,000 for micro-entrepreneurs, alongside business advisory services and training programmes. These grants are ideal for early-stage SMEs needing equipment, digital upgrades, or product enhancements. NEDCO also offers loan programs for businesses and alternative support, such as the Business Accelerator Programme, an incubator for offering entrepreneurs an all-inclusive suite of business support services.

2. ExportTT’s Grant Fund Facility

Export-ready SMEs in manufacturing or agro-processing sectors can access up to TT$250,000 for activities such as packaging, certification, digital marketing, and capacity building. This is one of the most SME-friendly grants for companies eyeing regional or international expansion.

3. Ministry of Trade’s Research & Development Facility (RDF)

Non-energy manufacturing and services sector, innovation-driven SMEs can receive matching grants of up to TT$1,000,000 covering up to 50% of the cost of new machinery and equipment to commercialise new products, adopt technology, or improve R&D capabilities. This facility supports projects that strengthen competitiveness.

4. CreativeTT & FilmTT Incentives

For entertainment and creative businesses, CreativeTT continues to support projects related to music, film, animation, and digital media. Incentives include funding for creative outputs, training, and market readiness — still open to applications through year-end.

5. Agriculture-Based Grants

The Ministry of Agriculture continues to provide targeted grants for small farmers and agro-processors, covering seedlings, equipment, irrigation, and food security initiatives.
